Kulhimas , an easy recipe

I love Kulhimas along with roshi, but am not always up to the task of making the spice mix when following this kulhimas recipe. During the lockdown, I came up with this kulhimas recipe to go with my oats flatbreads.
Maybe you already make it like this .... I rarely do, ever since I learned the original kulhimas recipe. Anyway, let me know what you think...

Kulhimas, an easy recipe
Prep time: 15 mins Cook time: 20 mins Total time: 35 mins
Ingredients:
- 2 small fillets fresh tuna , cut into small cubes
- 3 cloves garlic, finely grated or minced
- 1 small onion, finely sliced
- 1/4 scotch bonnet pepper ( optional)
- 12 curry leaves
- 1 1/2 tsp to 2 tsp dried red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin powder
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- salt
- oil
Instructions:
- Heat oil, about 3-4 tbsp in a pot, add the onion and saute the onions till they start to go golden.
- Add the garlic, curry leaves, scotch bonnet pepper if using, and stir fry. Add the spices, tomato paste and a splash of water, about 2-3 tbsp, and stir to release the aroma of the spices.
- Add the fish cubes ( which have been lightly seasoned with a tiny bit of salt), mix gently and add an extra 1/2 cup of water, cover and simmer over medium heat for about 8 to 10 minutes. Remove lid, taste, adjust seasoning, cook a little further to reduce the liquid then and switch off.
A new dish for me, but since it involves tuna, it has got to be good :-)
