One pot creamy pasta

Pasta is my go-to recipe when it comes to quick meals. This pasta recipe is pretty easy and uses few ingredients. I know its not easy getting wholegrain mustard so you can skip it and just use dried thyme only or dried mixed herbs.  You can opt it out again if you don't have any of the dried herbs either.
I know there is a lot of concern about eating processed food especially sausages and luncheon meat. But I believe when it comes to eating, everything should be in moderation, plus small portion sizes and regular meals ( no skipping meals for me). Sausages I use once a week or once in two weeks and even then I don't use the whole packet for the dish. Like in this one, for a family of 4, I have used only 3 sausages.

For the cream, I have used Nestle cream, you can use a small 200ml packet of whipping or cooking cream if you like.

How to cook One pot creamy pasta

  2. Add the garlic and onion to the sausages.
  3. Stir fry the garlic and onions and once the onion starts to go translucent, lower the heat and add the whole grain mustard, cream a little water/stock and stir it in to mix the cream well. Then add the remaining water/stock, peas, dried pasta, chilli flakes, pepper and salt.
  4. Bring the heat back to medium-high heat and let it cook, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once the liquid has evaporated from the top, check the pasta, it should be cooked, Stir and switch off, lid on and let it sit on the stovetop for another 5 minutes.  This makes the sauce slightly thicker.
