Peach Pie Smoothie
To drink more milk and gain a healthy weight, yes gain not lose, is my goal this year. So I have started to make smoothies and keep them in the fridge, so I don't stay hungry for too long. So to go along with this week's theme at IHCC , Fresh Starts! , I tried Ellie Krieger's Peach Pie Smoothie. Peaches are a bit expensive to eat everyday over here but when turned into a smoothie the kids and I enjoyed them for a day.
I wasn't quite sure about the spices but it complemented the taste. I used fresh peaches instead of frozen ones.
Recipe : Peach Pie Smoothie recipe from Ellie Kreiger's peach pie smoothie recipe.
1 1/2 peaches ( the other half of the peach disappeared into two hungry little mouths ) cubed
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup low-fat high calcium milk ( or use full fat)
a few drops of vanilla essence
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
A big pinch of finely grated nutmeg
1/8 ground ginger ( optional)
sugar or honey to taste
Add everything into a blender and blend till smooth. Chill and serve.
Linking this over to IHCC's this week's theme " Fresh Starts!". Hop over to visit them to check out the recipes that are healthy and focus on healthy recipes to start your new year, and/or your day.

ReplyDeleteSmoothie flavored like a peach pie can be a great recipe for all ages. You need to eat a lot of this to gain weight. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYummy...fresh peaches! They are expensive over here too!
ReplyDeleteI love a good smoothie and peaches are one of my favorite ingredients. What a bonus to splurge on fresh peaches. Here, the frozen peaches we get are usually fresher, better, and cheaper than fresh peaches, since they don't grow in the climate--but there is nothing better than biting into a ripe peach. ;-)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately we dont grow peaches either it comes all the way from australia so not exactly as juicy as you imagine :)
