Trip to Bangkok

Am back after spending a whole week in Thailand.   This is my second visit but the first time as a holiday so was looking forward to it. I had done my research contacted a good tour operator, JHI  tour and Ticketing, and searched around for good halal food stalls online, because I heard that it can be difficult to find halal food.  But you know what, it was pretty easy to find halal food as there were so many Middle Eastern tourists that they had almost 3 halal food stalls in almost every food court in all the malls we visited.
On the first day we visited the Siam Ocean World, the boys had fun checking out the aquarium and various attractions. There was even a Madam Tussauds in that mall although we didn't visit it this time. We had a delicious lunch at an Indian food stall on the ground floor food court of Siam Paragon, Royal India which served really good Indian food fare.

Day two we spent in an amusement park , Dream World a great place to let your hair down and just go have some quality family fun time. There is something for all ages, even a snow town.  The down part was there was no halal food in the food court but lucky for us our tour group brought lunch for us.  Our tour guides specialised in touring Muslim tourists around Thailand so when visiting places where there was no halal food they came armed with lunch packs.  Dinner was at a Muslim-owned thai restaurant, Sophia restaurent, which served delicious Thai food.

Day three was the best of all three, Safari world is one place you have to visit with kids because those shows they have are worth watching and then finally exiting from the park through an area where the wild animals are left to wander around freely in an African safari style area of the park.

Its not everyday you get to have a conversation with a giraffe

I think it's a place worth visiting when in Bangkok with kids. Had dinner at a sweet little muslim restaurant, called Hayathi Restaurant, where I  got to taste a delicious Pad Thai. Hayathi Restaurent is situated  near Darul Aman mosque .

The remaining 3 days were spent shopping.  We stayed at  Grand Diamond Suites which is situated in the middle of 3-4 huge shopping malls within walking distance. All the shopping malls have one or two halal food stalls and even a prayer room.  BTS train station is about 15 -20 minute walking distance. Its easier to walk than to take a taxi,as Bangkok streets are usually jammed, walking lets you check out the sites and savour the food and little roadside vendors.

So overall it was a good trip, the boys had fun, me and my hubby got plenty of rest. Now its back to the real world and blogging world.  Will be visiting my blogger friends soon.
