Pineapple And Strawberry Pops
When it gets pretty hot, you want something cold and healthy. This is one thing you can make!!. I saw this recipe on Pinterest ( I know! I love it, very obvious right). This one was so colourful with the double colours.
The boys weren't so sure about the strawberry layer , even hubby commented the strawberry flavour in an ice pop was not that exciting, but then I will let you be the judge of that.
Recipe : Strawberry and Pineapple icepops.
1 cup chopped fresh pineapple
4-5 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
3 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup water
First prepare the pineapple half, by blending the pineapple, sugar and water. You might a few extra tablespoons of water to get it blending nicely. Strain through a sieve to remove any string bits. Pour into ice pop moulds until they are half full, place in freezer for an hour ( depends on how cold your freezer is)
While the pineapple half is freezing, prepare the strawberry half by blending strawberries, sugar and water. No need to strain the strawberry puree.
Once the pineapple half is slightly solidified, not all the way through, pour the strawberry mixture on top till the whole icepop mould is full. Place the stick parts or wooden sticks and freeze.
To unmould pour or plunge the ice pop mould into hot water for a few seconds, I prefer to pour on the mould I am am going to eat instead of the whole thing. Gently turn it so it comes off.
Enjoy!!!
Indeed a perfect cooler during those hot summer days!
