Pineapple and Mango Smoothie ( A Curtis Stone recipe)

Unlike the smoothie recipes I have seen ,this one doesn't contain any dairy  product. Its very  nice and fresh tasting smoothie and one I found while searching for a drink (nonalcoholic) by Curtis Stone for this weeks' theme at IHCC.
I  used packed orange juice , lets just say I was too lazy to squeeze oranges after handling a pineapple, LOL. Since its mango season I had my stock of frozen mangoes .  I  strained the smoothie, mainly because there is the stringy bits of mangoes and sometimes from the pineapple  and knowing the boys I knew if I was to get them to drink this, I will need to strain it. It didn't take long to do it and came out nice and smooth. I skipped the ice cubes though, which is why I used more juice and chilled it before serving.

Recipe : Pineapple and Mango Smoothie ( recipe slightly adapted from Curtis Stone' s Pineapple and Mango smoothie recipe)

250g mangoes, peeled and sliced
1/2 a large pineapple. ( peeled and chopped)
3 cups packed orange juice( or use fresh orange juice)
sugar to taste

Place everything in a blender and blend till smooth. Push through a sieve and chill.

Serving this up at this week's theme " Wet your Whistle" ,  make any form of beverage prepared by Curtis Stone, at IHCC, and come and check out all the delicious drinks and other beverages.

  3. We think alike coming up with the same drink. It is so good with just one sweet mango. You worked harder with the straining. Nice!

  10. A great combination of flavours if you are able to get the right fruits, it's so hard to get this in Germany.
